Capital Intelligence Ratings (CI Ratings or CI) has today announced the withdrawal of the ratings assigned to Investbank (IB or the Bank) following the approval granted by the Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) held on 17 May 2026 for the merger of IB (the merged Bank) with Bank Al Etihad (BAE) rated ‘BB-’/‘B’/Stable (the legal successor).
IB was subsequently deregistered on 18 May 2026, and all its rights, assets and obligations were transferred to BAE.
At the time of withdrawal, IB’s Long-Term Foreign Currency Rating (LT FCR) and Short-Term Foreign Currency Rating (ST FCR) were ‘BB-’ and ‘B’, respectively. The Outlook on the LT FCR was Stable. IB’s Bank Standalone Rating (BSR) was ‘bb-’, with a Stable Outlook, and the Core Financial Strength (CFS) rating was ‘bb-’. The Extraordinary Support Level (ESL) was assessed at Moderate.
